send out your light
Send out your light and your truth, let them lead me,
let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!
Psalm 43:3
Father, Creator God,
This is the cry of my heart this morning, for your light and for your truth.
Let me see just a glimpse of the light that you will provide when your presence replaces the need for the light of the sun.
And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk
Rev. 21:23
And your truth, as Bonhoeffer reminds us, we encounter both death and life only the in the Word that comes to [us] from the outside, in God’s Word to [us]. Your Word is truth.
“So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God.”
Hosea 12:6
O LORD, my heart breaks. I watch myself in the mornings as I move about my tiny home, my bathroom/kitchen. Counting every step in my mind striving to lose not one for all that needs to be done. I am not driven my finding joy, but by the pressure of all that needs to be done. Heal my mind, LORD. Replace the counting of steps with the counting of your promises of provision and completion. Your truth. Amen.
