on risk
But go, act, be strong for the battle. Why should you suppose that God will cast you down before the enemy? For God has power to help or to cast down.” And Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do about the hundred talents that I have given to the army of Israel?” The man of God answered, “The LORD is able to give you much more than this.”
2 Chronicles 25:8-9
What are you saying to our hearts, LORD? Do not be presumptuous towards the LORD. He is in control of all things. Do not suppose that the investment that you have already made must be protected. Do not think that your own plans cannot be changed. Do not think that your own strength is sufficient. Whatever you have started, you can stop, and return to the LORD. He is waiting to tell you what He will do for His world. And He is able to far out give any investment that you think you cannot lose.
Our Father, we act presumptuously nearly every day. We do not respect your good and just plans. We think only short-term. Forgive us. O LORD, forgive me. You are, I AM. Your son is King over your Universe. All things are under his feet. In honor and recognition of your majesty, we cry Holy! Thank you for revealing some of who you are through your Word. Stop us, LORD. Send your Spirit and hold us back. Help us not to fear losing the temporary in light of the eternal.
