And every day Mordecai walked back and forth in front of the court of the harem to learn how Esther was and how she fared.
Esther 2:11

Esther was an orphan. Mordecai was her uncle. He raised in to have courage and faith in God. He challenged her to trust in God's sovereignty over her life and to wait to know God's specific purposes for her. When the day finally came for her to stand in the gap so that the Davidic line would continue, to prevent the genocide of her people, she did. Every day Mordecai walked back and forth to see how Esther was and how she fared. Every day. Back and forth. Father, we see your heart for your children in the relationship between Mordecai and Esther. We can lift our eyes and see you, too, walking back and forth watching over our lives. Every day. I WILL rest in the knowledge that you know exactly what will happen around me today. You will protect me. You are never far from me. I lay down my fears and return to hide in the cleft of the rock. In Jesus Name.
